From the Pastor

Welcome to Sanford First Baptist Church… “Where History Meets Vision.” We are an historic church, founded in our community before the Revolutionary War began, but we are also a forward looking church that is on a mission to bring the message of Jesus Christ to every new generation.

We are a “missional church” dedicated to reaching outside the walls of our church building and into the world where we live. We support local and regional missions as well as those which take the gospel to the whole world. We work with such organizations as The York County Shelter to provide housing, food and help to those who are struggling to survive. We support the Alpha Pregnancy Help Center as they work with mothers who need a helping hand as they decide their futures and that of their unborn babies. We are in fellowship with many other organizations and churches who are sharing with us in the on-going work of bringing the love of Christ to our community.

We are an American Baptist Church that believes that Christ is Lord and that He has a work for us to do today as we learn to be the Body of Christ on earth. It is an exciting adventure and our church is growing spiritually and numerically as we put these beliefs into practice.
